PITTSBURGH, PA – The new Thermox® WDG-1200/INSITU and WDG -1210/INSITU flue gas oxygen analyzers from AMETEK Process Instruments combine the rugged reliability and serviceability of Thermox flue gas sensors with the advanced electronic capabilities of Land Combustion’s Genesis line of oxygen analyzers. The result is a flue gas oxygen analyzer that offers accuracy, fast response, excellent usability and outstanding ease of maintenance for a wide range of flue gas applications.
“These instruments bring together the best of what Thermox and Land Combustion have to offer in the most attractive oxygen monitoring package available anywhere,” notes Derek Stuart, Technical Product Manager for Combustion and Environment for AMETEK Process Instruments.
“The WDG-1200 and -1210 are based on a field-proven design pioneered by AMETEK more than 30 years ago that incorporates zirconium oxide sensor technology with the advanced electronics and controls of Land Genesis’ analyzers,” he adds.
The WDG-1200 includes an integrated controller with user interface, RS485 Modbus and 4-20mA outputs, optional Remote Calibration Unit, operation to 70oC (158oF) and built-in diagnostics. The controller features precision temperature control for optimum stability and over-temperature protection. The WDG-1210 has all of the same features but its control electronics are mounted remotely from the probe allowing for greater flexibility when the probe is mounted in an inaccessible location.
The unique design of the two analyzers allows the entire sensor assembly, including the heater to be removed without disturbing the outer protection tube, which remains in the process. This makes field service fast and easy and because there is no need to return the probe to the factory for repair, there is no expensive downtime. The 310 stainless steel probe also eliminates the need for an abrasion shield for most applications.
Thermox offers the process industry’s most extensive line of flue gas analyzers for measuring oxygen, combustibles, methane and fuel-rich atmospheres. They feature a hot-wire catalytic detector that displays reduced drift and increased sensitivity to low-level carbon monoxide (CO) changes, while resisting the poisoning effects of SO2.
LAND Combustion, acquired by AMETEK in 2006, offers a comprehensive range of combustion efficiency and environmental monitoring instruments, including its Genesis line of flue gas analyzers that offer unrivalled flexibility and ease of use along with advanced electronic control.
Both Thermox and Land Instrument are fully supported by a global network of sales representatives and technical support and are units of AMETEK, Inc., a leading global producer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with 2008 sales of more than $2.5 billion.
