Model 440 Continuous Monitoring System

Model 440Benefits of sulfuric acid dew point monitoring
In order to maintain the operating efficiency of coal or oil-fired boilers, it is important to know that the temperature of the exhaust gas is above the sulfuric acid dew point temperature (ADT). If it is much higher than the sulfuric acid dew point temperature, then energy is wasted heating the gas and efficiency drops. Operating the boiler at temperatures below the sulfuric acid dew point temperature will result in the formation of sulphuric acid inside the boiler and particularly on the 'colder' parts of the plant.

Sulfuric acid dew point temperature monitoring ensures that the optimum point is maintained - just above the sulfuric acid dew point - where no sulfuric acid is being formed, but efficiency is maximized.

Continuous sulfuric acid dewpoint temperature monitor
It is permanently installed in order to optimize combustion conditions by maintaining the temperature of the flue gas slightly above the sulfuric acid dew point temperature. It can continuously monitor the changes in boiler operation and provide a direct loop input to the boiler's own combustion control system.
