THE NEED
Today's environmentally conscious oil and gas producers work to eliminate acid rain caused by the combustion of sulfur-containing hydrocarbon fuels. This globally important achievement is reached through the removal of the sulfur-bearing compounds and the subsequent recovery of elemental sulfur through the modified Claus process. The Claus plant, commonly known as the sulfur recovery unit (SRU), is the most enviromentally important process in modern oil and gas processing plants. In this process, the on-line analysis of the plant's tail gas is necessary to achieve and maintain the maximum possible sulfur recovery efficiency. SRU operators need a reliable, accurate analysis which is also free of the common sample handling and conditioning problems commonly associated with tail gas analysis.
THE SOLUTION
AMETEK Western Research, the leader in tail gas analysis for over 25 years, is proud to introduce Model 880-NSL (No Sample Line) tail gas analyzer. This compact, rugged, transmitter-style analyzer mounts directly on your process pipe. The Model 880-NSL was designed using new technological advancements developed to meet your operational demands. The analyzer mounts directly on your process pipe, eliminating sample line plugging. The 880-NSL photometer combines an extraordinary long lamp life (estimated 5 years!) with many innovative features designed to minimize maintenance and increase reliability. The 880-NSL is equipped with anti-clogging blowback features. The analyzer continuously monitors itself for proper operation and has built-in alarm features.
SAMPLE HANDLING AND ANALYSIS
The Model 880-NSL does not have an external sample line. The AMETEK Western Research Model 880-NSL mounts directly on the process pipe.
Designed for low maintenance sample and analysis, the 880-NSL photometer combines an extraordinary long lamp life (estimated 5 years) with many innovative features designed to minimize maintenance and increase reliability.
Anti-Clogging and Blowback Features
Any analyzer fault conditions automatically initiates air blowback to clear the sample system. This feature minimizes the chance of costly downtime by reducing sample line plugging.
Integrated Worldwide Design
Ready to install worldwide with very modest utility requirements.
Self-Diagnostics
Continuously monitors itself for proper operation and has built-in alarm features.
