Continuing to use proven AMETEK analytical technology, the completely redesigned 993X analyzer delivers a more versatile and intuitive measurement solution to end users. With an optical bench capable of continuously measuring up to five components in ultraviolet (UV) wavelengths, two components in Infrared (IR) wavelengths, and Hydrogen (H2) with a Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD), the 993X can provide one analyzer, where multiple analyzers may have previously been required. As an additional benefit, the 993X houses an integrated sample conditioning system, further reducing the need for additional analytical hardware.
The 993X also contains multiple heater options – up to 165°C is available, to address those applications that may have high dew points, reducing or eliminating the need for any type of coolers or chillers. This heating capability reduces the chance of plugging, fouling or the introduction of liquids into the analytical cell. Operationally, this reduces maintenance and down time.
In addition to measurement capabilities, the 993X introduces a large touch screen user interface that provides detailed analyzer information without requiring a laptop.
Typical components that can be measured in the UV wavelengths include: hydrogen sulfide (H2S), sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbonyl sulfide (COS), carbon disulfide (CS2), chlorine (Cl2), and ammonia (NH3). Carbon dioxide (CO2) and carbon monoxide (CO) can be measured with IR sensors.
Stable measurements
The 993X analyzers utilize AMETEK’s proven dual beam configuration, with one detector used as a reference to reduce drift. Span drift is further minimized using hollow cathode lamps that are extremely stable over temperature changes and/or time.
Analytical flexibility
The 993X can be configured to measure multiple UV absorbing components, utilizing multiple hallow cathode lamps and rotating filters. For single component analysis, a fixed bench configuration is used. The fixed bench does not include a filter wheel, resulting in less maintenance requirements and reduced noise.
The 993X uses no consumables or reagents and is designed for outdoor installation in critical process control and monitoring applications – Find out more.
