PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA (June 2025) – The 993X series of analyzers, encompassing the 993X and 9933, are now ATEX and IECEx Zones 1 and 2, and ETL (North America) Class I Division 2 compliant for use in hazardous locations with ambient temperature up to +60ºC. Built with IP66 rated enclosures, the 993X analyzers can be installed outdoors, or in minimally temperature-controlled enclosures, reducing both capital and operating costs.
Michael Gaura, senior product manager explained, “Due to increasing demand from our customers and with the need to deliver an analyzer that meets strict safety standards, we have continued to extend the capabilities of our highly successful 993X analyzers. Using an integrated cooling system to maintain internal temperatures of the enclosure, the 993X analyzers are designed to operate in higher ambient temperatures and locations where explosive atmospheres may occur, making the analyzers compliant to ATEX & IECEx Zone 1 & Zone 2, as well as Class I and Division 2 locations.”
The 993X series of analyzers use ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy to measure hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, and methyl mercaptan in natural gas and biomethane gas streams. These highly advanced analyzers are also used to measure hydrogen sulfide, carbonyl sulfide, carbon disulfide, sulfur dioxide, and hydrogen in sulfur removal and recovery operations.
